Iceland's pigs infected with A/H1N1 virus

29-Oct-2009 (16 years 7 months 9 days ago)The Food and Vetarinary Authority in Iceland has reported to the OIE the first case of A/H1N1 in pigs in the country.
Clinical signs commenced on 24 October with 10 sows off feed, temperature >40°C, some were coughing and two aborted. Two workers had had flu-like symptoms for a few days, prior to the clinical signs in the pigs.
The farm is a farrow to finishing swine herd with approximately 400 sows and a total of 4,500 pigs.
