After the biannual meeting held in Brussels by the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), contemplated in the Free Trade Agreement between EU and Mexico, several agreements have been reached that will facilitate commercial exchanges between Mexico and the European Union.

Among these agreements, protocols of mutual recognition of sanitary control systems have been approved for poultry and pig meat.

It is anticipated that contacts between the European Commission (SAMCO) and the Mexican authorities will proceed soon in order to advance the establishment of the models of sanitary certification that will accompany the exchange of fresh and frozen pig meat.
