Brazil: Pig slaughter increased in the fourth quarter of 2022

There were 13.80 million head of hogs slaughtered, 2.7% more than in the same quarter the year prior and 4.5% less than in the third quarter of 2022.

Total carcass weight was 1.27 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2022, up 3.0% from the same quarter in 2021 and down 5.1% from the immediately preceding quarter.
