The 25 biggest integrators and producers of swine livestock in the United States have reduced the number of breeders by around 200,000 head in just one year (-6%). These businesses make up 49% of the country’s breeders. Of these businesses, the most important, Smithfield Foods, has reduced the population by 10% while Triumph Foods, second place in the ranking, has made a 6% reduction.
