Philippines: ASF pulls down first quarter hog production

The Department of Agriculture will intensify efforts to control the spread of African swine fever after the latest Philippine Statistics Authority data revealed a 25.8% drop in hog production in the first quarter of 2021.
Crop production grew by 3.3%. Palay (unhusked rice) and corn production increased by 8.6 percent and 6.5 percent, respectively.
