Notable decrease in Dutch finishing pig exports

07-May-2021 (5 years 29 days ago)According to statistical data from the RVO, during the first 3 months of this year, Dutch exports of finishing pigs have decreased significantly from 366,173 head in the first quarter of 2020 to 202,455 head, a decrease of 44.7%.
The cause of this decline is the shipments to Germany, the main destination, which absorbed 90% of the total number of finishing pigs exported by the Netherlands during 2020. During this first quarter, shipments to Germany decreased by 49% from 353,622 head in the first quarter of 2020 to the current 180,406 head.
