According to the "Guidelines for Strengthening Measures for the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever" issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in 2020, starting April 1, 2021, China will gradually restrict the transportation of live pigs. With the exception of breeding pigs and piglets, other live pigs will not be allowed to leave the region. Live pigs leaving the area must be selected and transported through designated routes after passing inspection.

According to incomplete statistics from reporters of the Beijing News, in 2021, Sichuan, Hunan, Hainan, Guangxi, Shandong, and other places have introduced new regulations for the transportation of pigs in various provinces.
