08-Sep-2009 (16 years 8 months 30 days ago)The Council took note of the views expressed by the Netherlands delegation, supported by Bulgaria, the Czech republic, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Austria and United-Kingdom, regarding the need of new instruments to better control and inspect international transport of live animals, such as satellite navigation systems.
Health Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou declared that a draft proposal amending Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 was currently in inter-service consultation within the Commission services and will be released as soon as possible.
