Russia - Russia shall increase pig stock two-fold

Aleksey Gordeev, Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that within the frameworks of the developed policy on food safety of the Russian Federation, the share of domestic meat and meat products of total sales volume in the market is to be increased from the current 60 up to 85%.

Six large pig centres for selection and genetics will be created in the regions of the Russian Federation by the end of 2014.
