ASF Germany: 13 confirmed cases and more carcasses found

The National Reference Laboratory for African Swine Fever (ASF) of the Friedrich Loeffler Institute confirmed last Friday 6 new cases of ASF in wild boas in Brandenburg.

The first case, confirmed on September 10, was found in the carcass of a female between two to three years old found in the Spree-Neisse district while the other 12 cases in wild boar were discovered near the community of Neuzelle in the Oder-Spree district and therefore in the Danger Zone designated by the state of Brandenburg. All of them initially tested positive at the responsible state veterinary laboratory in Berlin-Brandenburg.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Land of Brandenburg (MSGIV) also reported yesterday that more carcasses have been found and are being examined in the state laboratory BE-BB.
