China’s National Statistic Bureau's latest report stated that as at the end of July, domestic pork prices showed a consecutive upward trend for eight weeks, while the parity between pigs and grain remained higher than the breakeven point of 6:1.

The report said pork prices in July saw a 9% month-on-month increase. The hike is partly due to the effect of state pork reserves initiated in June.
