General situation of ASF in Asia and the Pacific

Countries where all outbreaks have been resolved:

Currently, all ASF events have been resolved in Mongolia and in the following countries. In Cambodia outbreaks were reported in five different administrative divisions. In Hong Kong the virus was detected in tissue samples collected from pigs in the slaughterhouse, as part of the surveillance system in place. The last outbreak in Myanmar was resolved on May 12, 2020.

Countries with ongoing cases:

In China outbreaks have been reported in 31 different administrative divisions, and there are ongoing cases still in 8. The disease was detected in Indonesia following reports of increased of pig deaths in early September. No update has been submitted for North Korea since the disease was first reported there. In South Korea three administrative divisions have been affected. All outbreaks in seventeen different administrative divisions are still ongoing in Laos. In the Philippines outbreaks are ongoing in 27 administrative divisions. The disease was reported in Russia for the first time in 2007, and most recently, the disease was notified in four administrative divisions bordering China. In Vietnam, outbreaks have been notified in all 63 administrative divisions, with clusters of up to 498 outbreaks having been reported. Outbreaks are also still ongoing in Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea.
