Russia: Pig production increased in 2019

According to data from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, in 2019 live weight slaughter for all categories of pig production totaled 5.04 million tons, which is 5.1% higher than in 2018 (4.8 million tons). This figure increased by 7.2% to 4.4 million tonnes, including agricultural organizations.

Agricultural producers in the Pskov, Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh and Krasnodar regions accounted for the main increase in pig slaughter.
