Sales to Asia continue to boost Brazilian pork exports

Surveys conducted by the Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA) show that Brazilian pork exports (considering all products, fresh and processed pork) reached foreign exchange earnings of US$149.6 million in October. This is the highest monthly figure recorded in the last 24 months, and is 38.4% more than the $108.1 million recorded for the same period last year.

During the period, 68,100 tons of pork were exported, 8% more than in October 2018, with 63,000 tons.

So far this year (from January to October), pork exports increased 23% in value, reaching US$1.23 billion and increased 11.66% in quantity, with 592,300 tons.

Francisco Turra, president of ABPA, said that "sales to Asia continue to boost pork exports, and October shipments increased 81% to China and 19% to Hong Kong."
