The OIE has confirmed the presence of a hunted wild boar seropositive for Aujeszky. The wild boar was hunted in Tohmajärvi (Itä-Suomi), near the Russian border.

The case does not affect the official Aujeszky's disease free status of Finland, since it was found in a wild boar. The domestic population remains free of Aujeszky´s disease. All domestic pigs kept outdoors in Finland are protected from contacts with wild boars by double–fencing.
