30-Jun-2009 (16 years 11 months 14 days ago)Based on the results of the statistical survey on livestock and animal production in 2008, carried out by the National Institute of Statistics, In 2008, as compared to 2007, the weight of animals for slaughtering and consumption decreased for all the species.
Weight of animals and poultry for slaughtering and consumption decreased by 5.1%, falls coming from poultry by 1.4%, from sheep and goats by 5.5 %, from pigs by 5.8 % and from cattle by 8.1%.
In 2008, as against 2007, the weight of poultry production increased (+1.0 percentage points) and the weight of pork production decreased (-0.3 percentage points), of beef (-0.7 percentage points) and the weights of sheep and goats production and other species remained constant.
