Spain: the Agriculture Ministry underlines the leading position of the pig sector

The Secretary General of Agriculture and Food, Carlos Cabanas, stressed the leading position of the pig sector in Spain, with an economic dimension of €6,000 M, representing 37% of the final livestock production. A sector, he added, that every year breaks its own international marketing record.

This is demonstrated, stated the Secretary General, by this year exports until August, that reached a volume of 390,000 tonnes of beef and pork products, representing a 17% increase over the volume exported in the same period last year, when a historic record was achieved.
